2100年前，石榴随着丝绸之路传入中国，并在临潼落地生根。如今，中国的石榴种植面积达到了175万亩，已超越其原产国伊朗跃居世界第一。

2100 years ago,the pomegranate was introduced to China along the Silk Road and took root in Lintong.Nowadays,China's pomegranate planting area has reached 1.75 million acres.Surpassing its country of origin, Iran, China has become the largest pomegranate planting country in the world.

52岁的陈重权，与石榴打交道30多年，他用毕生的心血，来发展石榴产业。石榴园后面的骊山，其实是一座死火山，雨水不断将富含矿物质的泥土冲刷下来，造就了这片土质松软含沙量大，透水性好的土壤，为石榴的生长提供了优越的环境，从而让临潼的石榴享誉国内外。古人称之为“天下之奇树 九州之名果”。

Chen Chongquan, a 52-year-old farmer, has been working on pomegranate planting for more than 30 years.He devoted his life to the development of pomegranate industry.The Li Mountain behind the Pomegranate Garden is actually an extinct volcano.Rainwater continuously washes soil rich in mineral down from the mountains,creating a piece of land composed of soft,high sand content,and well permeable soil.It provides a superior environment for the growth of pomegranates,making Lintong's pomegranates renowned both domestically and internationally.The pomegranate was called by ancient people as the "rare tree of the world and the famous fruit of China".

This tree is the living fossil of our Chinese pomegranate.

临潼最老的一棵树

It is the oldest tree in Lintong

也是咱们中国最老的一颗古树

and also one of the oldest ancient trees in China.

距离张骞从丝绸之路上带回的石榴

since Zhang Qian brought back pomegranates

石榴也从临潼繁衍到了全国各地

现如今，全国石榴产业蓬勃发展稳步增长，西安临潼区石榴种植面积8万多亩，年产量约为8万吨，产值达到5亿元，石榴产业的发展不仅带动了当地经济，还促进了乡村振兴。2023年，在古丝绸之路的东方起点西安，中国国家主席习近平与中亚五国元首共同种下以友谊为名的六颗石榴树也已经结满了硕果。

Nowadays,the pomegranate industry in China is flourishing and steadily growing.The pomegranate planting area in Lintong District, Xi'an is over 80000 acres,with an annual output of about 80000 tons and a production value of 500 million yuan.The development of pomegranate industry not only drives the local economy,but also promotes rural revitalization.In 2023,in Xi'an, the eastern starting point of the ancient Silk Road, Chinese President Xi Jinping and heads of five Central Asian countries jointly planted six pomegranate trees in the name of friendship.Now these pomegranate trees are bearing abundant fruit.
